“深海”——

我们对它又好奇又有点恐惧

不同的海洋深度都有什么生物呢？

不要害怕！

0-200 meters

Sunlight can reach this area. It’s warm and bright. It’s home to most of the animals in the sea.

浅海由于有阳光照射着，还是比较温暖的。大多数海洋动物都生活在浅海！

Blue whales 蓝鲸

Blue whales are the largest animals in the world. Krill (磷虾) are their favorite food.

蓝鲸是世界上最大的动物，磷虾是它们的最爱！

Sharks 鲨鱼

Sharks are the “killers” of the sea. Most of them live in this area.

鲨鱼是著名的“海洋杀手”，大多数鲨鱼都生活在浅海。

200-1,000 meters

Less sunlight gets here. It’s darker than the upper sea. No plants grow here.

可以抵达这里的阳光变少，所以这里可比浅海黑多了，这里已经没有海洋植物生存了。

Lanternfish 灯笼鱼

They are the most common fish in this area. They have little “lanterns” in their bodies. They can produce light on their own.

灯笼鱼是这个海洋深度最常见的鱼类，它们的身体有可以自己发光的“小灯笼”！

1,000-4000 meters

No light reaches this area. Animals here often have huge mouths and sharp teeth. Most of them don’t have eyes. It’s very dark, so they don’t need to see much.

这个海洋深度已经没有光亮了，这里的海洋生物通常有着巨型的嘴和尖尖的牙，而且它们通常没有眼睛（……有点吓人了）这里太黑了，它们不太需要视力。

Sperm whales 抹香鲸

They sometimes dive here to look for food. To do this, the huge animals must hold their breath (屏住呼吸) for up to 90 minutes.

它们有时会潜到这里觅食，完成这一活动，它们必须屏住呼吸90分钟！

4,000-6,000 meters

It’s very cold and salty. Very few animals can live here. Some of the animals here look strange and have special ways to hunt.

这里的海水很冷、很咸，只有少数的动物会生活在这里，生活在这里的动物有的长得很奇怪，并且有独特的方式去捕猎。

Anglerfish 鮟鱇鱼

They have lights on their heads. When small fish come to the lights, they open their mouths and have a big meal.

Under 6,000 meters

This is the deepest part of the sea. We know very little about this area. It’s a dangerous place.

这里是海洋最深处，我们对这里的了解还很少，这里很危险哦！

Sponges 海绵

Sponges are animals, not plants. They don’t have faces, feet or arms. But they have filters (过滤器). Water goes through the filters and food stays in their bodies.

海绵不是植物，是动物！它们没有面部、脚和胳膊，但它们有过滤器，它们通过过滤海水，留下食物进食。
